South Devon Coast Path

One of South Devon’s greatest assets is the coast path winding its way along almost every mile of the clifftops and beaches from Exmouth right round to Plymouth. Indeed, it’s just one section of the 630 mile South West Coast Path around one of the most attractive coasts in the UK. And best of all, the path runs right past the Pottery, across the great stone viaduct.

Whilst the path is essentially one long path, there are a number of more circular walks which have been defined (see website) to suit all abilities and interests. The walk around to Little Dartmouth is the obvious choice, though it is steep in places. Guests have previously walked to Blackpool Sands or taken the ferry across to Kingswear and walked to the stone beacon overlooking the estuary. Although not strictly the coast path, several guests have enjoyed the Dart Valley Trail from Kingswear to Agatha Cristie’s house at Greenway (with the option of taking the ferry back!)
